SERVOLUX: SUPPLIER AUDIT AS A MANDATORY ELEMENT OF THE FUNCTIONING OF FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND THE REQUIMENTS OF PARTNERS
01 July 2022
One of the mandatory requirements implemented at the enterprises of Servolux Group of ISO 22000, HACCP, HALAL food safety management systems and FSSC 22000 certification schemes are supplier audit and supplier auditor competence requirements.
The quality specialists of Servolux CJSC are constantly trained in new
requirements of food safety and have international certificates confirming the
competence of an auditor of food safety management systems issued by
international accredited Certification Bodies.
Since 2019, the quality service of SZAO Servolux has been developing and
implementing on an ongoing basis the process of auditing the supplier of both raw
materials and packaging materials. Control tests are carried out in independent
accredited laboratories.
A lot of joint work was carried out with the Purchasing Service on the
development of Annexes to the Standard Supply Agreement with quality
requirements, which take into account the mandatory requirements for the quality
and safety of the supplied products and for transport packaging, the requirement
for mandatory confirmation of the transport sanitization before delivery to the
enterprises of Servolux Group of Companies (in the case of transportation by hired
transport of the supplier), the requirements for the provision of test reports from
accredited laboratories for product compliance with the indicators in the
specification and technical regulations, the requirements for organizing the storage
of arbitration samples on a permanent basis and the requirement for mandatory
information on the work done to reduce the risks of producing low-quality
products (claims) and based on the results of the Buyer's audit.
A separate block should be noted the introduction of mandatory testing of
supplied packaging and auxiliary materials from 2020.
The tests are carried out by production sites in accordance with approved schemes
and schedules. For 2020–2021 128 samples of auxiliary (spices) and packaging
materials were tested. Claims were made for all unsatisfactory test results. More
than 30 batches were returned. It should be noted that there is a downward trend in
the detection of supplies of non-conforming materials: in 2020, 30% of non-
conforming products from the volume of samples examined were detected, in
2021 - 20%.
The results of incoming inspection and testing of packaging materials are the
database for quality analysis of supplied auxiliary and packaging materials. In
order to determine the degree of risk and plan a supplier audit, the quality
specialists conduct a survey of the main suppliers, analyze claims, analyze test
results and assess risks.
Audits are carried out in accordance with the plan approved by the Director
General on an ongoing basis.
The results of the conducted audits are formed into a report with a developed
assessment methodology and sent to all participants in the process. Based on the results of the audits, problematic issues were identified: identifying unscrupulous
suppliers, introducing new requirements into supply contracts and specifications in
terms of ensuring the quality and safety of supplied materials.
The quality and safety of manufactured products is a key element of Servolux's
development strategy.
